I think MoMu is very interesting type of fashion museum. This museum in Antwerp, Belgium has presented two temporary, characterized exhibitions every year. It has the largest collection of contemporary Belgian fashion in the world.

Fashion Museum of Various Exhibitions

I came to find this fashion museum on Instagram and recommend you to check. This museum has very well-arranged website which archives all their fascinating previous exhibitions. And there’s a library as well – so it’s worth to visit when you’re travelling in Antwerp, looking for a kind of inspirational place to refresh yourself for an hour.
The museum also provides various activities, like children’s workshop called “a paper shoe” or “playing with fabrics”. Sounds cool and I even want to participate!

MoMu exhibitions are characterised by their immersive scenography. As a visitor, you not only see the exhibits, you are also immersed in the world of the designer or the theme. The exhibition space is completely transformed for every exhibition, making each visit a unique experience.

Unique fashion museum worth to visit

Big fashion museums are usually focusing on the history of fashion. So “contemporary” makes this fashion museum unique and interesting. I don’t think I’m a fashion maniac but definitely love fashion in everyday.
I think their current exhibition [Textile as Resistance] is very contemporary because it tells stories about Belgian immigrants, textile ateliers run by refugee women from Lebanon and Palestine. This video makes me more want to visit the exhibition and MoMu.

Unfortunately I’ve visited Belgium only once and it was more than 20 years ago. So I wish I could visit Antwerp and this museum some day in the near future (hopefully next year).
I especially would like to be at the library which looks cool and full of interesting books and materials, even if I’m not a fashion designer.
Nowadays we visit places in advance via Instagram and feel the places more familiar when we actually go there.
I think I feel like that if I go to MoMu fashion museum!
